A Winter Intern-Duction
Meet the Interns and see what we've been up to!
Hello! I’m Lee, one of the interns at Looky Here this winter. We’re excited to be helping out and working as part of the team!
Before sharing a snapshot of what we’ve been working on this week, here are a few get-to-know-me graphics to introduce who we are, our interests, and what we’re looking forward to during our time here.
This week we hit the ground running, starting with an ongoing project of sorting through donations for the art supply thrift store and displaying them on the shelves. It’s been exciting to see the range of materials that pass through the space. We received a large donation of tiles, along with lots of glass jars, beads, yarn, and plenty of other odds and ends that we’re excited to have in the shop. Organizing these materials has been a hands-on way to learn more about how the thrift store supports creativity and accessibility for the local arts community.
We also took a walk through downtown Greenfield, hanging up flyers and calendars with information about the events and workshops we’ll be hosting in January. If you’re in town, keep an eye out!
On Tuesday, we spent much of the day folding and packaging riso-printed valentines by a former winter intern. The morning consisted of folding, trimming, packaging, stickering—and repeating. We also helped prepare orders for the Monthly Mail Art Club, a nice reminder of how Looky Here’s work reaches beyond the studio and directly into mailboxes.
Wednesday was especially exciting, as we helped move the 2026 Calendar Show from Forbes Library in Northampton to the Greenfield Public Library. The exhibition features the works of the artists who appear in the 2026 calendar (which is almost sold out!) and will be on view at the library for all of January. Being part of the installation process offered a behind-the-scenes look at how exhibitions travel and are shared with the community!
We’re looking forward to continuing our work at Looky Here, supporting upcoming events and workshops, learning more about the organization, and sharing updates as winter goes on!
